Firestix Teams Take 16U, 14U Crowns;
Traverse City Waves 12U Gold Wins First Title

There were some GREAT championship games played at the 2010 Northern Classic tournament!

In the 16U division, the Michigan Firestix and St. Clair Shores Sharks - Carless teams slugged it out for TEN INNINGS before the Firestix prevailed by one run.  For pure excitement, this game might have been the best in Northern Classic tournment history.  Great job, both teams!

in the 14U group, the Michigan Firestix got by the Thunderbirds 13U team in the finals.  Both teams played extremely well throughout the tournament.

Last but not least, Traverse City's Waves 12U-Gold team became the first Waves team to win it's division in the Northern Classic tournament's three-year history when they held off the Thunderbirds 12U squad.  Watch the website for photos from the championship game!

Thank you to all of the teams that made the trip to Traverse City for our Northern Classic tournament.  Sorry about the rain....both days were a big challenge to prepare the fields for play.

A special thanks goes out to all of the people who worked so hard to prepare the fields, run the concession stands, and generally make things go as smoothly as possible.

Finally, congratulations to our tournament champions--the Michigan Firestix 16U, Michigan Firestix 14U, and Traverse City Waves Gold 12U--and to our tournament runners up--the St. Clair Shores Sharks-Carless 16U, Thunderbirds 13U, and Thunderbirds 12U.  Great job, ladies!
