Waves 12U Blue Makes a Run To The Semifinals of the Softball Spectacular Tournament!!!

The Waves Blue team put together some great performances in pool play and in the single elimination round while making a deep run in our own Softball Spectacular tournament. Stacked up in the photo are Alexa, Megan, Hannah, Karissa, Haley, Madeline, Jane, Gabby, Alayna, Alecia and Nicole. Way to go, girls!!!!

Waves 16U Finishes Second in Leroy Buchanan Memorial Charlevoix Tournament

Congrats to our 16U girls who had a great run against some excellent competition in the recent Buchanan Memorial Tournament in Charlevoix! The championship game finished around 9 p.m., making for a long but fun tournament run for our girls. Pictured left to right in various degrees of seriousness are Kate, Lissa, Hannah, Maggie, Haley, Kari, Kaitlyn, Emily, Adam, Sarah, Ellen, Katie and Colleen.

12U Gold Captures Northern Classic

Congratulations to our 12U Waves Gold team who won their division in our own Northern Classic tournament! The Gold team had several close games against excellent teams, but finished off their run to the title by getting past the Thunderbirds in the championship game. Thanks for visiting our site. Thanks, also, to all of the teams and their families who participated in the Northern Classic and Softball Spectacular tournaments held in Traverse City this summer.

While we're still in the planning stages at this point, the 2011 Northern Classic tournament is penciled in for the last weekend in June. The 2011 Softball Spectacular tournament is penciled in for the second weekend in July. Check back periodically for updates.

Welcome to the Traverse City Waves website. The Waves is an organization formed in 2004 and based in Traverse City, and provides the opportunity for young players to learn and enjoy the game of softball. Currently we field teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U age groups.

The Waves hosted the fifth Traverse City Softball Spectacular this summer. Because of overwhelmingly positive feedback from our visiting teams, we added the Northern Classic tournament in 2008 to allow more teams the opportunity to combine a mini-vacation in the Traverse City area with a first class, enjoyable tournament.
